FANBASSADOR JACOB WRITES ABOUT SIGNING UP TO PLAY FOOTBALL THIS YEAR AND SUPPORTING THE WANDERERS

This year I’ll be playing again for the Minto Stingers in the U13s. I can’t wait to get back out there to play with my friends and improve my game and hopefully score some goals. Every season I learn new skills and I love playing football and trying to get better at every training session – I’m always looking to improve my skills. Going to a Wanderers game is such a good experience. I’ve seen the girls play a couple of times and been to most of the boys games this season. 6 THE WANDERER ROUND 7 WARM UP win against the Mariners last Sunday got things back on track for Finals Series qualification. Wellington have had similar results over the last three rounds. Away from home, they snatched a win on the road against an in-form Newcastle Jets before suffering back-to-back losses against Adelaide United and Sydney FC. The Phoenix now sit eight points outside of the Top Six and will need to string together some wins over the next few rounds to try and get themselves back in the circle. But first, they’ll need to try to secure three points against the Wanderers tonight who are undefeated in their last five matches against Phoenix and have kept a first-half clean sheet in each of those matches. Tonight’s match will mark the first time Wellington Phoenix have played at ANZ Stadium. Wellington have struggled to make an impact in New South Wales this season, having won only one of their last eight games. The Wanderers have won three of their last four games against Wellington and will be looking to make it four from five tonight.
