Self Governed Flames By: Sydney Corio “Don’t think inside the box; don’t think outside the box. Don’t even consider the box as being part of the picture, because, and to be completely frank with you, there was never a box. Not when the world was created or when time began. People—man created the box to keep thoughts controlled. Rational. On their terms; by their defini- tion. “But, see, ideas we have are meant to be set free. A box of any material couldn’t dream of holding them. Our minds aren’t meant to be closed off; our thoughts aren’t meant to be controlled by a default setting of synthetic walls. They’re like…like flames, self governed flames that contain every creative fiber in our bones. Self gov- erned flames that need so desperately to be released. To be ignited. “Although, and when fire gets to close too to objects not belonging to the elements of its own composure, it becomes contagious. Light a match and set your mind ablaze. Where is the fault in this? Let people imagine, let them dream! “I can promise you the best things in life lie beyond the box—entirely void of the box! The road to change, to the best we can be—it’s all cut out of sight by the box. “Throw the box away. Allow your head to run wild through the lands you’ve only seen in the midst of the night. Strike the match, set the town of shadows amongst the simmering light and burn that box down!” Autumn Fox By: Senior Kyle Printon Thank you to all who submitted and we encourage you to keep writing and Fire Dragon By: Junior Swapna Mannam submit new work for the next issue! 8 Job # 4977 School Bishop George Ahr High School HJ HJ Job # School 8 Special Instructions Special Instructions 2 Template Template 3 WICS551101L WICS551101R ©2010 Herff Jones, Inc., ©2010 Herff Jones, Inc., Even All Rights Reserved All Rights Reserved Odd Page Page Black Ink Includes Spot Color(s) x Process 4-Color (CMYK) Black Ink Includes Spot Color(s) Process 4-Color (CMYK) The Satoma Newsmagazine • Friday • November 11 • 2016 PERSPECTIVE 3 What should the president be focused on during the first term of office?
