5 CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE R SEAS N
2016 was as usual another exciting and successful season, and we now await with anticipation the 2017 season.
We all however face a challenge as we move forward. The winter of 2016/17 has seen the amount of Indoor League cricket reduce, and the team entries for the 2017 outdoor season have reduced to 91, as opposed to the last six years where over 100 teams have been entered.
All of us reading and using this Handbook are already committed to junior cricket, but we must encourage more participation. At times it appears that it is not due to a shortage of players that teams are not being entered, but rather a shortage of volunteers to manage and coach the teams. I hope that Clubs will work hard to encourage more volunteers, and that it is not left to the ‘same few’ to run all of your teams.
As always the League and Club officials perform a vital role in the continued success of the League, so I urge you to give them your full support, and on behalf of the League I wish to thank all Officials and wish them well in the year ahead.
Mick Dawson continues as League Secretary, so the administration of both the Outdoor and Indoor Leagues is in safe hands.
We have new sponsors in 2017, and hope that you will support them in the same way that they are supporting junior cricket.

The Junior League will continue to be strong with 91 teams still being an extremely high number of teams for the League to be proud of, especially as this excludes those who will enter the Under 7 tournament.
The Taverners representative teams, under the guidance of Emma Lyons, continue to progress, and the League funds are solidly controlled by Peter Walker, with a solid balance In Hand at the 2016 Year End . So it continues to be a very exciting time for all Clubs with Junior Set-Ups, and I would, as always, encourage any Clubs without Junior Teams to really look at establishing one for the future benefit of cricket in the area.

UNI R CRICKET LEAGUE RULES (A AGM )
. The League shall be known as the Nidderdale Junior Cricket League (“the Junior League”) and shall consist of such clubs as the shall approve.

The League Management Committee (“LMC”) shall have power to expel a mem er of the unior eague when in the opinion of the it would not e in the interests of the for it to remain a mem er. clu shall not e e pelled unless it is given days written notice to attend a meeting of the isciplinary Panel together with written notice of the reasons for such e pulsion. he clu shall e given an opportunity to appear efore the said Panel to answer complaints against it and shall not e e pelled unless at least two thirds of the mem ers of the said Panel then present vote in favour of its e pulsion and the decision of the said Panel is ratified y two thirds ma ority of the .

The mpire shall signal to the scorers the fall of each wicket (using the normal ‘out’ signal).
