Lisäksi Subversionin julkaisun jälkeen on tullut uusia versionhallintajärjestelmiä ja tässä työssä tutkitaankin, olisiko Subversion syytä vaihtaa johonkin toiseen versionhallintajärjestelmään opetuskäytössä. Työn tavoitteena on löytää opetuskäyttöön parhaiten soveltuva versionhallintajärjestelmä ja tuottaa sille opetusmateriaalia. Työssä havaittiin, että Git on suosituin versionhallintajärjestelmä ja se on myös suhteellisen helppo käyttää. Lisäksi GitLab on tutkimuksen mukaan Suomen yliopistoissa käytetyin ja ominaisuuksiltaan ja hinnaltaan sopivin Gitin web-käyttöliittymä. Näille tehtiin
