AUCKLAND/WAITAKERE CLAIM TRIFECTA AT AGE GROUP CHAMPIONSHIPS Congratulations to the Coaching and Management personnel along with the players of the Auckland/Waitakere Age Group Teams for winning all three titles at the NZ Age Group Championships held during July.

The satisfaction of teaching skills to players and seeing them progress to achieve their potential at the elite level. Who has influenced you the most with your coaching and why? A number of dedicated people I have worked with over the years, starting with Marion George and then inspirational people such as Robin Manihera and Sue Tapene, Also the wonderful support people and parents involved with my time with the younger players at Auckland. Briefly describe the best or most exciting coaching experience you’ve had to date: Winning the U15 and U17 titles over the past few years. Name 3 things you couldn't live without: My husband and kids; my netball diary, which I write everything in and my mobile phone! If you could get a ticket to any international event (sporting, entertaining or cultural) in the world, what would it be? The Olympic Games! Especially the Athletics. Something interesting to share? I played with Ruth Aitken at North Shore for 3 rep seasons!

Watching the personal growth of the girls I coach in their personal lives and their netball endeavors'. Who has influenced you the most with your coaching and why? Judy Weston and Sheryl Hyndman are two coaches that I have to thank for encouraging me to apply for coaching roles within Netball Auckland Waitakere and continue to give me support. I have also worked under both these coaches and even though they both have two different styles I have been able to get positives from both to assist me with my coaching. Briefly describe the best or most exciting coaching experience you’ve had to date: Retaining the NZ U19 Age Group title this year with a new bunch of exciting players and having seven of our girls named in the tournament team definitely has to go down at the best year yet. Name 3 things you couldn't live without: My husband Bhovan and my two girls Jenna (9) and Samara (7); My mum, she does a lot during netball season & is my biggest fan; Steak Pies (I make a great nutritionist!) If you could get a ticket to any international event (sporting, entertaining or cultural) in the world, what would it be? 2012 Olympics in London. Something funny to share? Gosh there is so many, as my netball girls will tell you. But one that friends constantly remind me of, is when I tried to walk over stadium seats to go see a friend down the bottom, the stadium was packed to the max! Suddenly I trip as I am climbing down, fall over three lots of seats to land face down in a guys lap! I have never got up so quick in my life!
