ULMAN, Mary Katherine ‘Casey” Baker, 83, of Wheel­ ing, W.Va. and Gulfport, Fla., was taken by the Good Lord at Biship Joseph H. Hodges Contin­ uous Care Center on January 5, 2005, after a confinement of 4 1/2 months due to a broken ankle and other complications. She was the most loving, kind, considerate, friendly, witty, won­ derful, helpful person to one and all. She was born May 17, 1921 in Wheeling, W.Va., the daughter of the late Edward W. Baker and Mary Markey Baker. She was a Catholic by faith and a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in 1939. She was employed by Wheel­ ing Stamping Company for over 30 years, mostly as the lab assis- tant to Dr. D avid Menard, research chemist. She then fin­ ished her working life at Home’s of Wheeling. As long as she was able to, she volunteered at Wheeling Hospital out-patient surgery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sis­ ter, Dorothy Baker; her aunt, Ella Markey; her uncle, Thomas Markey; and an infant niece, Krista Baker. She will be forever loved by her husband of 55 plus years, Ralph Ulman, Jr. and on her fam­ ily’s side, her brother, Edward W. Baker and his wife, Mary Ann of New Martinsville, W.Va.; their two daughters, Shelby Cross and her husband Shawn, their two children, Tyler and Emily Roan, all of Columbia, Mo., and Kim­ berly Baker of New York City.
