In the late 1990s, uniform standards for safety, protective and occupational footwear were established at the European level. They still

determine the applicable standards in this area to this day. The technical services provider TÜV Rheinland tests our BIRKENSTOCK

Professional models against the following standards:

· EN ISO 20344: Specifications and test procedure · EN ISO 20345: Specifications for safety shoes

· EN ISO 20346: Specifications for protective shoes · EN ISO 20347: Specifications for occupational shoes

All shoes are described as occupational shoes if they have slip-resistant, antistatic or similar characteristics and generally do not have

special toe protection. Models with toe protection are divided into two categories: protective shoes (plastic toecap, impact energy of

up to 100 joules) and safety shoes (steel toecap, impact energy of up to 200 joules).

Our soles have been tested by TÜV Rheinland and must meet the standards for one of the following categories:

· SRA – Slip resistance on ceramic tiles with detergent

· SRB – Slip resistance on steel floor with glycerine

Antistatic clogs – anti-static, especially comfortable and can be disinfected · SRC – Slip resistance on ceramic tiles with detergent and on steel floor with glycerine

Walking on different types of flooring automatically generates an electrostatic charge. This can be dangerous, because even the slightest

discharge in an operating theatre or intensive care ward can lead to complications.

Checklist for PU products The antistatic clogs protect patients in intensive care and sensitive operating technology from potentially dangerous discharges.

Open all the straps and put your feet in the footbeds. Be sure that you have a few millimetres of space around your heels

and toes. You need this room for your foot to flex naturally. Your feet should also fit snugly inside the footbed shape and
