I cannot imagine a more fulfilling role to have serving our wonderful community. This past year has been one of change, challenges, opportunities, and innovation for UWPC. The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly impacted many aspects of how we operate, but it has not changed our determination or ability to support our local community. With the establishment of the Emergency Response & Recovery Fund, and thanks to the generous contributions from many organizations and individuals, UWPC was able to provide critical support to nonprofits who were directly impacted by COVID-19. This is a true testament to how United Ways rise in times of crisis and serve as strong pillars of community support. This also provides a heartwarming reminder of how the Pueblo community always comes together in times of need; without you - our donors, volunteers, Shanna M. Farmer, President/CEO and community partners - none of the work we do would be possible. I want to express my sincere gratitude to our 2019 Campaign Chair Shawn Shelton, 2019-2020 Board Chair Karen Trujillo, and the UWPC Board of Trustees for your unwavering dedication and incredible leadership this past year. Your passion, talent, and enthusiasm help us to be the be the best we can be. Thank you to the entire UWPC team for supporting each other through this time of transition and for your steadfast commitment to furthering our organization’s mission. We have an amazing team, and I feel very fortunate to work with each of you. I also want to thank Andrea Aragon for 17 years of incredible leadership at UWPC. As I said during the 2019 Campaign Kickoff, Andrea left very big shoes to fill. So instead of trying to fill her shoes, I decided to bring my own, different shoes. Shoes that will allow me to step back to where we have been and learn from the past, all while walking towards new goals that will help us continue to grow and thrive for years to come. Our entire community has weathered quite the storm this past year, but as we have seen from the incredible acts of kindness, compassion, and generosity, we truly are Pueblo Strong, and we are always #Stronger United.
