For Your Safety and Convenience Rider Height Requirements the Code of the West For Your Safety and Convenience At Knott’s Berry Farm, we want all of our guests to have a safe and enjoyable day. Every guest has different capabilities and limitations. Guests of extreme size, those with temporary disabilities (such as casts and braces), and certain permanent disabil- ities (such as neuromuscular disorders, amputations and other disabling conditions) may be prohibited from participating on some attractions for safety reasons. Hand- held infants may not be taken on the park’s more aggressive attractions. Expectant mothers and guests with heart or back conditions should be cautious in deciding which attractions to experience. For your protection, all the attractions here at Knott’s Berry Farm incorporate safety systems that are designed by the manufacturer to accommodate people of average physical stature and body proportion. All passenger restraint systems, including lap bars, shoulder harnesses and seatbelts must be positioned and fastened properly to allow guests to ride. Due to rider restraint requirements, guests of exceptional size may not be accommodated on some of our attractions. This may apply, but not be limited to, guests who exceed 6' 2" or those who exceed 250 pounds (some attractions may have lower weight restrictions), have a 46" waistline or 54" chest. Extremely large or small individuals, guests who have a history of heart, back or neck trouble or recent surgery, expectant mothers, guests with casts, braces, restrictive devices or disabilities may be affected by the requirements needed to ensure these systems operate properly. Our ride admission policy has been developed in consultation with the recommenda- tions of the manufacturer, our past experience, and our evaluation of each attraction using our knowledge of the attraction both in normal and emergency operating conditions. Our prime consideration is the ability of each guest to endure the dynamics of each attraction without the risk of injury to that guest or other riders. If you would like more rider information, please request a “Guest Assistance Guide” available at Guest Services, located in Ghost Town. We’ll be happy to brief you on our ride admission policy and explain how it applies to your specific situation. Most attractions cannot accommodate strollers, backpacks, cameras, stuffed animals, or bulky objects. Please leave them with a non-riding friend. Ride Operators cannot be responsible for these items. For safety reasons, eating/drinking, taking pictures, videotaping, and filming while participating on the attractions is prohibited. Headwear is discouraged on most attractions; however, if worn, it must be secured. KidTrack, a wristband program that will assist you and the park personnel in reuniting your group should you become separated, is available at Guest Services. The park offers Parent Swap which allows one parent to ride while another parent waits with the child. When the ride is complete, the parents swap child responsibility at the exit. Rider Height Requirements For the safety of all park guests, all rides have rider height requirements based on the manufacturers’ recommendations. Other appropriate safety requirements may also apply. The ride height requirements are posted at the attraction entrance. Some attractions may require a supervising companion to accompany a guest. A supervising companion is someone who meets all the requirements to ride the ride themselves, is 14 years of age or older and demonstrates appropriate observed behavior. Supervising Companions are responsible for ensuring that the guest remains seated properly-where applicable-and follows all rules and regulations. For the safety of your child, a standard play shoe which does not contribute excessively to the child’s height is required. For example, a child is not permitted to wear platform shoes to help meet a height requirement. Knott’s Berry Farm reserves the right to ask that shoes be removed to ensure that a child’s height is not being artificially enhanced or manipulated. The Code of the West We work very hard at Knott’s Berry Farm to provide a safe and exciting entertainment experience. However, without your cooperation we cannot be successful. Please comply with all posted or distributed rules and guidelines. Use common sense. Respect the person and property of others. Please do not bring food or drink into the park. Do not engage in activities which are beyond your ability or physical capacity. Be personally responsible that you are in good health and free from heart, back, or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions, which could be aggravated by the park’s attractions. No marijuana use is allowed on the Knott’s property. Tobacco, cigarette, and e-cigarette smoking is allowed in designated areas only. Animals are not allowed inside the Park with the exception of service animals. A valid form of admission and a hand stamp are required for re-entry to the park on the same day. Some private or special ticket events do not allow re-entry. The Park is subject to closures in full or in part due to inclement weather. No refunds due to weather closures. The Management of Knott’s Berry Farm would like to ensure that the ultimate safety and enjoyment of all our guests is achieved every day. In order to do this, we are asking for your cooperation by refraining from the following list of unacceptable behaviors. Unacceptable behavior includes, but is not limited to, any criminal conduct, disorderly and/or indecent conduct, any act that would endanger the safety of yourself or others, loud, profane or abusive language, loud music, running, roller skating, skateboarding, bicycling, throwing objects, spitting, jumping/cutting into queue lines, possession of or use of alcoholic beverages (other than in designated areas), illegal substances of any kind, smoking in queue lines or buildings, unauthorized distribution of literature, or postings of signs, inadequate or inappropriate attire, wearing of costumes, littering, interfering with the passage of others, use of pointing/laser devices, creating a nuisance or disrupting guests, associates or any venues, possession of weapons or any type or items determined to be a weapon by Knott’s Berry Farm Management or its agents. • Knott's Berry Farm
Knott's Berry Farm Yes, it did all begin with a farm. Back in 1920, Walter and Cordelia Knott came to Buena Park and started a small, 20 acre berry farm. It became Knott's Berry Place in 1928 when they built a permanent building to serve as a berry stand and tea room. Despite some success in the propagation of the boysenberry, money got tight as the depression hit and they needed another source of income, so, in 1934 Cordelia reluctantly began serving chicken dinners in the tea room on her own wedding china. The chicken was a hit. By 1937 they built a full-fledged restaurant, and soon they had thousands of customers lining up to get in -- so many that Walter began to look around for some way of keeping them entertained while they waited. In 1940 he moved the Old Trails Hotel to the Farm from Prescott, Arizona -- the first of many old buildings that he would relocate or replicate to form his own ghost town. He added "The Covered Wagon Show," a cyclorama, to the hotel's lobby and the farm had its first themed attraction. In the 1950's more buildings and more shows were added to what was now known as Knott's Berry Farm. In 1952 Walter bought the entire the Denver and Rio Grande railroad and moved it to the farm where it was reborn as the Ghost Town & Calico Railroad, the park's first ride. Since then the park has continued to grow, developing into one of the world's premier theme parks (Knott's Berry Farm won the Amusement Business/Liseberg Applause Award in 1988, only the fourth park so honored.) After the deaths of Cordelia and Walter the Knott family carried on as managers until 1997, when the park was acquired by Cedar Fair, L.P., which has continued to expand and improve the park.
