We have separated the more straightforward cases which come into A&E so that we can better focus on caring for the acutely ill patients. A survey is carried out by volunteers in every medical and surgical ward on a daily basis to help patients who are due to be discharged to complete a questionnaire on a portable computer about how they feel about their care. Their views are used to improve services.
