On Monday evening the Music Faculty staged another wonderful Christmas Carol Concert at St. Saviours Church. The students sang beautifully and delivered a very powerful nine lessons to a packed church. A great start to the final week and a very big thank you to Ms Stothard and the rest of the Music On Thursday evening we will welcome back Faculty for arranging this special event. students who left in the summer to collect their A-level certificates and catch up with staff on their ventures. Many have completed their first term at university whilst

some have taken a year out. We will report on this in the

New Year.

Finally, the last day of term is Charity Day and one of the highlights is staff dressing up in various themes for the day. There are plenty of activities for students to be involved with and we hope to raise a good amount for our charities on the day.

May I wish all of our families a very enjoyable Christmas and I look forward to seeing everyone in the New Year. Christmas dinner was even more popular, this year we served on three days of the week to over 1000 With best wishes students. Last week our Y12 and Y13 Drama and Theatre students went to see an immersive piece of theatre by Kneehigh Theatre Company last week. It was a huge success and some of our students were fully immersed in the action by playing roles within the play! We hope the weird and wonderful works of Kneehigh have helped to inspire you to create just as engaging pieces of theatre in the new year.

The Whole School Read 2019 - ‘Armistice Runner’ by Tom Palmer

Since the launch of this year’s Whole School Read

many students have borrowed copies from the library and begun reviewing the novel.

‘I really enjoyed reading this book as it shows the con- nection people can have through stories, memories, experi-

Well done to the girls who all played on Wednesday in the rugby V Samuel Ryder. It was a great afternoon of rugby for the two teams with lots of development and fun for all of the girls involved. Some of the girls have only had the opportunity in PE lessons so far. To play in a their first fixture and perform so well is a great achievement. Well done The Y10 basketball team played Queens on Tuesday girls. in a county league match. There were some excellent individual performances, however, foul trouble made it tough for the team to hold off a strong opposition and we eventually lost the game.

The senior netball team played STAGS on Wednesday afternoon in a District league game. The match was a fairly one sided affair with our girls running away with it and continuing their fine form of recent weeks. Well done girls.
