The 2015 OMHA Goaltending Symposium will include the new Hockey Canada Goaltending 1 Instructional Stream course and feature guest speaker, Peter Goulet, Assistant Coach of the Brampton Beast of the ECHL, who will discuss Defensive Zone play.

The new Hockey Canada Developing Defensemen - Level 1 Instructional Stream course will provide minor hockey coaches the foundation of defenseman-specific skating, breakouts basics, individual defenseman skills, neutral zone play and regroup basics skills, 1v1 play in the defensive zones and shooting.

NOTE: Participants must be prepared to participate on-ice and wear appropriate Coaching gear including CSA Approved Helmet, skates, stick, gloves and rink suit (no jeans) - Goaltending equipment is not required

Guest Presenters Profile

Peter Goulet | Assistant Coach – Brampton Beast (ECHL) Peter Goulet was recently named the Assistant Coach of the ECHL’s Brampton Beast after serving for five and a half seasons as the head coach and general manager of the Junior A team of the Central Canadian Hockey League. This included a memorable 2011-2012 season, where the Raiders secured their first league title since 2004 en route to their third Art Bogart Cup as CCHL Champions. The success carried over into the following season as again Goulet his team all the way back to the CCHL Playoff Finals, where they fell in six games to the . Prior to his time with the Raiders, Goulet served as an assistant coach with the of the Ontario Junior Hockey League, spending over three seasons with the team as a jack-of-all-trades responsible for team management, coaching and scouting. In 2009, Goulet was behind the bench for one of the Voyageurs most memorable playoff runs in franchise history, as the Kingston squad won their first Buckland Trophy defeating the in 5 games. Just over a week later, the Vees took down the Fort William North Stars to capture their first- ever as Central Canadian Junior A Champions.
