Einige Leser werden mich und meine Abhandlungen vielleicht h aus dem Internet kennen, wo ich unter dem Namen "Cadfael" schreibe. Zu meinen Hobbys zählen unter anderem Recherchearbeit, das Katalogi- c sieren, Aufarbeiten und Einstufen von Daten. Da die Geschichte der Roland i Bassverstärker bisher weder auf Deutsch noch Englisch von jemandem erzählt worden war, kam ich im April 2009 auf die Idee, dies (ohne das Wis- h sen von Roland) zu tun. Mir war ehrlich gesagt nicht klar, auf was ich mich c einließ. Je tiefer ich grub, desto mehr Material förderte ich zu Tage. Auslöser für die Zusammenstellung dieses Nachschlagewerks war die nicht s abflauende Begeisterung über meine vier Roland Verstärker (CUBE-30x, CUBE-100 BASS, MICROCUBE BASS RX und D-BASS 115), sowie einige e BOSS Effektgeräte, die seit über 20 Jahren ihren Dienst bei mir tun. g Da ich durch das Nachzeichnen von Logos, die Verwendung von Produkt- namen und -daten Marken- oder Urheberrechte verletze hätte, wandte ich s mich vor der Publikation zur Freigabe an Roland Deutschland. Dort war man zwar verwundert, aber auch sehr erfreut über die Zusammenstellung g und veröffentlichte sie sogar auf der Firmenwebsite. Bei späteren Nachfor- schungen wurde ich zudem von zwei Mitarbeitern unterstützt. Besonders n zu erwähnen ist Paul, der mir mit Hinweisen, Material und seiner Website u www.rolandmuseum.de sehr bei den Nachforschungen geholfen hat. Die Angaben und Aussagen in diesem Werk bleiben jedoch unverbindliche h private Äußerungen! Inhaltliche/Historische Fehler sind durchaus möglich! e Viele Grüße t Andreas Kühn s Die Roland Verstärker Trilogie t Zuerst gab es nur "Die Geschichte der Roland Bassverstärker". Beim Aktu- n alisieren dieses Nachschlagewerks kam ich Anfang 2010 auf die Idee, auch die Geschichte der Roland Gitarrenverstärker niederzuschreiben. Daraus E wiederum entwickelte sich das Vorhaben eine Trilogie zu schreiben, in der fast alle Roland Verstärker der letzten 40 Jahre beleuchtet werden oder zu- mindest erwähnt sind. Lounsbury: Review of "Beat Box: A Drum Machine Obsession" Beat Box: A Drum Machine Obsession by Joe Mansfield, Get On Down, 2013 When Wurlitzer released the first commercially available drum machine, the Side Man, in 1959, the famed organ company was attempting to fulfill a modest need: rhythmic accompaniment for the organist or musical combo at times when employing a drummer was not practical. The print advertisement for the Side Man showed a quartet featuring an accordionist, guitarist, organist, and an attractive piece of furniture about the size of a hi-fi. Inside its wooden exterior, the Side Man relied on vacuum tubes and a motor driven wheel with electrical contact points to generate its sounds.
