Jon Jay’s Jan. 26 2nd Annual Bowling Challenge, Presented by FMSbonds, Inc., Brought Star Athletes, Celebrities & the Public Together to Raise Approximately $35,000 for Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade

Jay, St. Louis Cardinals Outfielder and Miami Native, Hosted Event at Lucky Strike Lanes in Miami Beach

Miami, Fla. – Feb. 4, 2013 – Over 225 people laced up their bowling shoes at Lucky Strike Lanes in Miami Beach on Saturday, Jan. 26 for ’s 2nd Annual Celebrity Bowling Challenge, which raised approximately $35,000 for Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade. Jay, St. Louis Cardinals outfielder and Miami native, along with other Major League stars, star athletes, celebrities and members of the public, joined in the fundraising/bowling fun.

Proceeds will support Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s many positive programs for 10,000 area youth.

In addition to exciting bowling matches, guests enjoyed red carpet arrivals, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction and more. Attendees were matched with star athletes/celebrities to bowl.

Jay, who played baseball for years as a child at Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade, was thrilled to help give back to the organization that played such an important part in his life. “This was a great event, and I was happy to see so many people come out and support a wonderful cause.”

In addition to Jay, athletes and celebrities in attendance were , Daniel Descalso and Tony Cruz of the St. Louis Cardinals; Pat Lee and Cesar Carrillo of the Lions, Yonder Alonso of the , Blake Tekotte and Jared Mitchell of the , of the , John Mayberry Jr. of the , Alex Castellanos of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Dennis Raben of the Seattle Mariners, Jimmy Graham of the New Orleans Saints, and Bryan Greenberg, actor, HBO’s How to Make It in America.
