Trade Display Information Pack 2017

Conference Overview

The Beginning and Establishing Teachers’ Association (BETA) organises professional development events to support the induction of beginning teachers. This information has been prepared for organisations such as Professional Associations and Education suppliers who are looking to promote their business/service to those new to the teaching profession.

BETA is the peak body advocating for beginning teachers in Queensland. With more than 700 members, BETA works in partnership with employers to ensure all teachers receive a quality induction to assist those new to the profession to critically reflect and improve their teaching practice.

The 2017 conference program will bring together more than 500 pre-service and classroom teachers from primary and secondary schools across all sectors. BETA will host four major events in Rockhampton, Gold Coast and Brisbane with Trade Display opportunities at the following conferences:

· 4th March 2017 / Building Blocks to Success / Griffith University, Gold Coast
· 11th March 2017 / From Surviving to Thriving / Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre, Gladstone
· 29th-30th April 2017 / Spirit of Learning, Residential Conference / Hilton Hotel, Brisbane
· Late August 2017 (TBA) / Thinking on Your Feet Conference / Stretton State College, Brisbane

Each conference will feature practicing teachers focusing on pedagogy and connections to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. All workshops are practical, immediately relevant and provide countless strategies and ideas, which are easily adaptable to any classroom setting.

Delegates will also benefit from networking with other beginning teachers to collaborate, reflect and develop new partnerships to build future success for themselves and students in the classroom.

Estimated Number of Delegates

It is expected that there will be more than 300 delegates attending the Spirit of Learning conference and 60-70 delegates at the three other conference programs: Building Blocks to Success, From Surviving to Thriving and Thinking on Your Feet conference for Pre-service, Contract & Supply teachers in August.
