Call for Session Proposals for the IGC 2016, Beijing

The 33rd International Geographical Congress (IGC) will be held in Beijing, China, on 21-25 August 2016. The theme is Shaping Our Harmonious Worlds, which highlights today’s common pursuit for harmony between humankind and nature, between environment and society, and for harmonious approaches to the world’s hazards and conflicts. Under this theme, five key topics: geographical science and future earth, global change and global understanding, urbanization and sustainable development, environment-health and social welfare, geography in different cultures will be focused, parallel to the quadrennial meeting of the IGU commissions and task forces.

We cordially invite the chairs of the IGU commissions and task forces to inform of your planned sessions and meetings and invite all interested geographers to submit proposals for themed sessions under the five key topics by 15 April 2015. Commission sessions and the sessions on the key topics approved by the IGC 2016 International Scientific Committee in June 2015willbeincludedintheofficialcallforpapers. Registration for the Congress starts on 15 August 2015.
