Buzanowski Receives Larson Polled Herefords Scholarship

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Rachael Buzanowski, Pompeys Pillar, Mont., was awarded the $1,250 Larson Polled Herefords Scholarship Oct. 31 at the American Hereford Association (AHA) Honorees Reception during the AHA Annual Meeting in Kansas City. This scholarship was one of many awarded through the Hereford Youth Foundation of America (HYFA), totaling more than $37,000.

The 18-year-old daughter of Bernard and Stacie Buzanowski, Rachael, is a freshman studying animal science at Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kan., where she is on the volleyball team. She plans to transfer to Kansas State after completing two years at Butler. Her goal is to pursue a career in agricultural law.

Rachael graduated from high school in May first in her class with a 4.0 GPA. She enjoys showing cattle and in 2013 exhibited the champion steer at the Montana State Fair.

Ken and Carolyn Larson of Larson Polled Herefords, DeSoto, Texas, are longtime supporters of Hereford youth and this scholarship is given in their honor annually.

The Hereford Youth Foundation of America is a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit. Its mission is to support scholarship, education and leadership activities within the Hereford breed. For more information about the HYFA, visit HerefordYouthFoundation.org or contact the AHA at 816-842-3757.
