Fun Ways to Practice Spelling Words

  • Write a short story using all of your words. Illustrate your story.
  • Write your words using letters cut out from old magazines.
  • Write your words adding one letter at a time. You will end up with pyramids.
  • Write your words with glue and sprinkle with jello powder. Once dry, trace over them and enjoy the delicious smell.
  • Write your words using two different colored markers. Use one color for all consonants and another color for all vowels.
  • Type your words ten times each. Change the text color and fonts for each time typed.
  • Do jumping jacks, when you clap at the top say a letter to spell your words.
  • In a dark room, use a flashlight to write the letters on the wall.
  • Trace the words on Mom or Dad’s arm or back. Then give Mom and Dad the words and have her or him trace them on your arm or back.
  • Set a timer for three minutes. See how many times you can correctly write all of your words before the timer goes off.

SCHOOL RULES AGAINST BULLING

We will not bully others.

We will try to help students who are bullied.

We will make it a point to include students who are easily left out.

When we know somebody is being bullied, we will tell an adult at school and an adult at home.
