Afterthefirstterm’sintroductory courseintowriting,whichfocusedonparagraphwritingandindividual genres (rhetoricalstrategies,treatment ofmaterial),this course movesbeyond,butreliesonwhat has been coveredinthefirst term’smaterial.Aftertwoweeksdedicatedtorevision, anin-depth treatmentof,andpracticeinargumentation (supporting claims with evidence, being mindful of audience and purpose, strategies as well as fallacies of

argumentation)willfollow.Thethirdpartofthiscoursedealswiththetheory andpracticeofsummarywriting,askill

testedintheend-of-yearEYEexamination.Thefourthmajorpartofthecourseistheresearchpaper,(librarysearch, documentingsources,etc.).
