Licensing and Animal Services Coordinator
Reporting to the Supervisor Licensing and Standards, the incumbent is responsible for the daily co-ordination and administration of the Department’s Business Licensing and Animal Services Programs including supervising the work of the Senior By-law Enforcement Clerks, OSPCA Animal Control Officers as well as the oversight of the City’s animal services contracts to ensure service levels are met. The incumbent is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in drafting policies, procedures and by-laws related to business licensing and animal services and will assume duties of the Supervisor in the Supervisor’s absence.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
  • Undergraduate Degree or College Diploma in a related field such as law, legal administration, enforcement or public administration or related program.
  • 5 to 7 years experience in municipal by-law environment and experience in staff coordination and training activities.
  • Knowledge of the municipal licensing by-laws, the Ontario Municipal Act and the Provincial Offences Act, and the operation of a municipal by-law department and its field enforcement and compliance related duties.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and the Health and Safety policies and programs established by the City that pertain to this job.
Must be willing and available to attend the occasional stakeholder meetings and events in the evening and on weekends.
Valid Class G Driver’s Licence and access to a personal vehicle for business purposes required. As a condition of employment, you will be required to provide a satisfactory driver’s abstract.
Salary:$65,211.00 - $74,052.00 / Year
