A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in honor and loving memory of James J. Huber, Jr.

WHEREAS, James J. Huber, Jr., proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean War. A loyal member of the American Legion, he was past Commander of Iroquois Post 229, Kentucky Department Chaplain for 11 years, and a recipient of the organization's Distinguished Service Award; and

WHEREAS, the president of the Downtown Kiwanis Club, James J. Huber, Jr., was the former co-owner of Huber Linoleum and Carpet Co., Inc., where he worked from the time he was a teenager until his retirement at the age of 72; and

WHEREAS, James J. Huber, Jr., departed this earthly life on January 9, 2014, leaving his family, friends, and an entire community in solemn mourning; and

WHEREAS, James J. Huber, Jr., was preceded in death by his sons, Jamie and John Huber; his grandson, Matthew Huber; and his brothers, Tom and Bill Huber. He is survived by his cherished wife of 63 years, Peggy Bard; his son, Larry Huber and his wife, Connie; his daughters, Elaine Pursell and Jennie Stokes and her husband, Jim; his daughter-in-law, Theresa; his brothers, Al Huber and his wife, Jan, and Harry Huber; his sisters, Mary Watts and her husband, Al, Rosie Mangino and her husband, John, and Martha Bertrand and her husband, Mel; his brother-in-law, Bob Bard and his wife, Captola; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

âSection 1. The House of Representatives hereby expresses its most profound sense of sorrow and proffers its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and community of James J. Huber, Jr.

âSection 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of James J. Huber, Jr.

âSection 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mrs. Peggy Huber, 2016 Kendall Lane, Shively, Kentucky 40216.
