A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager within a small local charity in the North East. Open Gate is a registered charity operating since 2005. The Charity provides custodial and community based support to women offenders leaving HM Prison & YOI Low Newton, Durham, and who are returning to the North East of England from other Prisons. The project aims to aid resettlement and help reduce the risks of re-offending, so building safer communities for all. We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to lead the organisation forward, as it continues to adapt to changes in the criminal justice area. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the ideal candidate will have proven experience of:  Working autonomously to plan, develop and implement organisational strategies;  Securing funding from a variety of sources to deliver activities and provide financial stability;  Seeking out opportunities to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with prison staff, commissioners, and key stakeholders to influence and shape services, policy and commissioning activity;  Leading staff and volunteers to achieve organisational objectives. Ideally you will have a related degree at a minimum of 2:2 award and experience in a similar role such as Operations Manager in a commercial or charity organisation. You should have experience in, and a good understanding of, the Criminal Justice sector. This role will be varied and no two days will be same. You will work directly with both key partners and funders of the charity, and the women supported by our services. If you are a motivated self- starter with the drive to develop and grow with us, we’d like to hear from you. This permanent role is based in our office next to HMP Low Newton. We offer a competitive salary of £30,000 to £35,000 negotiable and dependent upon experience, 25 days annual leave and a range of additional benefits. Although we would prefer a full-time role (37.5 hours/week), we would consider applicants who can work a minimum of 25 hours (salary/benefits adjusted pro-rata).
