Dear Parents,

Welcome to Millikan Middle School Math Academy Families!Fasten your seatbelts and prepare yourself for the high speed, advanced, but incredibly fun and creative work load expected from your middle school student.

Students will be reading and writing A LOT !Their new writing responsibilities will include writing5 paragraph essays, letters, editorials, book reports, poetry, journal entries, dialogues, short stories, literary analysis and quite a few creative projects.

In their History class they’ll be studying the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, the Israelites, India, China, Greece and Rome.

Projects alone, with a partner and with a group will enhance these learning experiences. They will be making constant connections with the world of yesterday and the problems of today as we look for answers for our future together. They will also be responsible for a weekly editorial on current events that will be due every week on a specific day.

All this amazing work must be written neatly in dark blue or black ink. Typed work is welcomed, but only if done in black ink.ANY WORK DONE IN PENCIL WILL RECEIVE ½ OR NO CREDIT. ALL LATE WORK MAYALSO RECEIVE ½ OR NO CREDIT.

Your son or daughter may say, “I don’t have any homework tonight.” Don’t believe them! Students will have homework every night! It will be posted on my webpage so that it’s easy for parents to know what’s going on. It will include creative writing assignments, reading and studying for tests.
