POOLS: GOLDEN WEST COLLEGE POOL, 15744 GOLDEN WEST AVENUE, HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA. Take 405 freeway north or south to Golden West Avenue. Go south on Golden West past McFadden to Golden West College. Park near the tennis courts for quick access to the pool. Additional parking available on Gothard, 1 block east of Golden West Avenue. SPLASH AQUATIC CENTER, 13806 La Mirada Blvd., La Mirada, CA. From the Santa Ana Freeway (5) heading SOUTH: exit at Valley View travel EAST. Turn RIGHT at Rosecrans. Turn LEFT at La Mirada Blvd. Turn RIGHT at Civic Center. Heading NORTH: exit at Beach Blvd. Proceed NORTH. Turn LEFT at La Mirada Blvd. Turn RIGHT at Civic Center.

COURSES: GOLDEN WEST COLLEGE POOL is an outdoor 50 meter pool; 25 yard competition area with 10 swimming lanes, and a warm-up area. This competition course has been certified in accordance with 104.2.2 ( C ), on file with USA Swimming. Pool Depth Measurement at Start and Turn End: 4’ – 9’. LA MIRADA SPLASH AQUATIC CENTER in La Mirada is an outdoor 50 meter by 25 yard pool. Warm-up/warm-down lanes in a separate 25-yard pool will be open during the meet. The competition course has been certified in accordance with 104.2.2(C), on file with USA Swimming. Pool depth at the start and turn end of the first course is 2 meters. Start and turn depth of the second course range between 10’ 6” and 14’. Each dual meet will run 8 Lanes at La Mirada Splash and 10 Lanes at Golden West College WARM UP RULES: USA Swimming warm-up policies will be enforced by USA Swimming Officials. Swimmers warming up or down before, during, or after this swim meet must be under the direct supervision of an USA Swimming member coach. There will be NO DIVING into the pool during these times except into the designated sprint lane(s). WARM-UP RULES WILL BE ANNOUNCED AND POSTED.

MEET REFEREE: The meet referee shall be in charge of the meet. Any questions regarding the conduct of the meet should be made directly to that person.

RULES: USA Swimming rules will govern. Current SCS Meet procedures will be enforced and take precedence over any errors or omissions on this entry form. (See 2016 SCS Swim Guide). Each dual meet will be pre-seeded. All scratches must be turned into the meet admin at least 30 minutes prior to the start of each dual meet.

SPECIAL RULES: Swimmers may swim a maximum of THREE individual events and TWO relay events per dual meet. Each team will compete within an assigned team division: large teams, mid-size teams, small teams. Final Team division assignment and each teams schedule of dual meets will be released on September 4, 2017. Each Large teams may enter no more than 8 primary swimmers per individual event and no more than four relays initially. Mid - size teams may enter no more than 6 primary swimmers per individual event and no more than three relays initially. Small teams may enter no more than 4 primary swimmers per individual event and no more than two relays initially. Additional swimmers in any event should be entered as BONUS. After all primary swimmers have been entered all bonus swimmers will then be entered, based on fastest entry time, until all lanes for two heats per event are full. ALL EVENTS WILL BE SWUM FASTEST HEAT FIRST. Teams are asked to provide timers. Out of District swimmers/teams are welcome, however, their entry into the meet will only be allowed once all SCS member teams are accommodated. Please provide your own lap counters for the distance freestyle events.

SPECIAL RELAY RULES: Teams that are unable to field at least one relay team in each relay event will be allowed to register as many relay only swimmers as is necessary to fill one relay team. Additionally, each relay only swimmer will be allowed to enter one non-qualified individual event. Non-qualified, relay only swimmers should enter their best short course time for the chosen non-qualified event.

DUAL MEET SCORING: Each dual meet shall be scored 7,5,4,3,2,1 for individual events and 14,10,8,6,4,2 for relays.

RECORDING DEVICES & MEDIA NOTICE: The use of audio-visual recording devices, including cell phones, is not permitted in locker rooms, changing areas or restrooms. Recording devices are not permitted behind the starting blocks during the starting sequence throughout the meet. This meet may be covered by the media, including photographs, video, web casting and other forms of obtaining images of athletes participating in the meet. Entry into the meet is acknowledgement and consent to this fact.

DRONES: Operation of a drone, or any other flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venue (pools, athlete/coach areas, spectator areas and open ceiling locker rooms) any time athletes, coaches, officials and/or spectators are present.

SWIMWEAR: Swimwear must conform to USA Swimming Rule 102.8. Only swimsuits complying with FINA swimsuit specifications may be worn in any USA Swimming sanctioned or approved competition.

DECK CHANGES: Deck Changes are prohibited.

RACING START CERTIFICATION: Any swimmer entered in the meet unaccompanied by a USA Swimming member coach, must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.

ELIGIBILITY: OPEN TO TEAMS AND ATHLETES WHO ARE 2017 or 2018 USA Swimming REGISTERED and have registered with the Race Series Commissioner prior to September 1, 2017. Team Registration application must be received by FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 2016 by the race series commissioner. Each team’s dual meet entries must be received by the entry deadline for each dual meet (5:00 PM the Wednesday the week before the Meet, Sept 13, Sept 27, Oct 11, 2017) by the administrative referee. Swimmers who qualify for the race series after the September 1 team registration deadline may participate as long as their team was registered as of September 1, 2017. Coaches must update their team rosters to include new swimmers who qualify for the race series after September 1, prior to the entry deadline for the next dual meet by sending to the Race Series Commissioner ([email protected]). NO ON-DECK ENTRIES. THERE MAY BE NO CHANGE OF TEAM AFFILIATION AT THE MEET: At the meet, a swimmer may UNATTACH and swim by notifying the Administrative Referee in writing and paying the appropriate fee, however he/she will not score any team points. Unattached swimmers who are currently a member of a registered team in the race series may swim, however, they may not score points. A swimmer may not attach at the meet.

ENTRY FEES: The Race Series includes four dual meets and one championship meet for each swimmer on a team’s roster. The registration fee is $70.00 per swimmer. Swimmers who join after the first dual meet will pay $60.00; after the second dual meet $40.00. In addition, there is a $250.00 team surcharge for each registered team. Full payment for the race series (single team check for all swimmers on the team roster and the team surcharge) must be postmarked within 48 hours of the e-mail entry deadline for the first dual meet, September 13, 2017. Failure to comply will be referred to the Board of Review. Fees for new swimmers are due by the entry deadline of the first dual meet they participate in and should be sent to Alina DeArmas at PO Box 63 Simi Valley, CA 93062.

SUBMITTED TIMES: Times submitted must be BEST RECORDED TIMES short course or long course from this or preceding swim season (NO WORK OUT TIMES). All non-conforming times will be seeded last. Coaches and swimmers should be prepared to verify all submitted times. Discrepancy in the submitted times can lead to disciplinary action.

QUALIFYING TIMES: Swimmers must have achieved at least one SCS Senior Development Time Standard to participate in the Race Series by September 1, 2015. Time Standards are posted on the SCS website and are attached to this entry information sheet.

AWARDS: There will be no awards for the dual meet competitions. Individual event medals, first through third, will be presented at the Championship event on November 21. Team awards will be presented at the Championship meet on November 21, 1st through 3rd place by division. The team awards will be determined by combining dual meet points scored and Championship meet points scored (double value). Team rankings by won / loss record will be posted after each dual meet. A separate dual meet award will be presented for the team in each division with the best record (total points scored will act as tie breaker).

ENTRIES for each dual meet: An entry zip file will be accepted ONLY when received with an attached Word or .pdf file including electronic signature of coach and will be dated as official at that time. Full payment for the race series (single team check) for an e-mail entry must be postmarked within 48 hours of the e-mail entry. Failure to comply will be referred to the Board of Review. Entry updates and added events will be processed when received by the processor by the entry deadline. Added events for previously entered swimmers and events for new swimmers who have just achieved their first Sr time standard may be entered up to the entry deadline for each dual meet. All added entries and swimmers should be submitted by hard copy (this includes e-mail) ONLY, any time prior to the entry deadline for each dual meet. DO NOT RESEND AN ENTRY FILE. A replacement file for the team will NOT be processed. Deletions will NOT be refunded.

ENTRIES CLOSE: ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE MEET PROCESSOR NO LATER THAN 5:00 PM, Sept 13 (dual meet #1), Oct 4 (#2), Oct 11 (#3), 2017. To avoid any concern regarding receipt of entry card at the designated address, you are advised to enclose a stamped, self-addressed postcard or envelope for return when your entry is received. NO CERTIFIED, REGISTERED OR SPECIAL DELIVERY MAIL WILL BE ACCEPTED.
