1 [5135] 1 1 Whereas, her future plans also include seeking federal, state, and 2 county assistance for upgrading water and sewer lines on the 3 streets of District 3; and 4 5 Whereas, there is no denying that Castle has the heart and desire, 6 in addition to the right qualities and common sense, to see her 7 community gets the help it needs; and 8 9 Whereas, she is looking forward to being a vigorous advocate for 10 her district and the city as a whole and making a difference in the 11 lives of its people. Now, therefore, 12 13 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: 14 15 That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of 16 South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulate and honor 17 Josephine Castle of York County for being the first African 18 American woman elected to York City Council and offer her the 19 greatest support as she begins her duties to represent the people of 20 District 3 and improve the quality of life for all in York. 21 22 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to 23 Josephine Castle. 24 ----XX---- 25
