1 [4216] 1 1 Whereas, the championship Lions Soccer Team is composed of 2 Anna Bowman, Mark Bowman, Joseph Clarey, B. J. Crosby, B. J. 3 Edmonds, Chris Hostetler, David Hostetler, Matt Kauffmann, Zach 4 Lindsay, Nikki Marthai, Gideon Nagy, David Southwick, Jamie 5 Southwick, Chad Sumner, and Kenny Wagner; and 6 7 Whereas, individual accolades for being selected as all conference 8 players go to Mark Bowman, David Hostetler, Gideon Nagy, Chad 9 Sumner, and David Southwick, who was also selected as the “Most 10 Valuable Player”; and 11 12 Whereas, the success of the Lions Soccer team has been aided by 13 the unfailing support of the players’ families and friends and the 14 continuing support and encouragement of Nancy Southwick, 15 Athletic Director, Dr. Terry King, Headmaster, and Mrs. Karey S. 16 Sumner, Principal; and 17 18 Whereas, this Class A-AA State Championship has brought great 19 pride to James Island Christian School and to the James Island 20 community, and the General Assembly is pleased to have this 21 opportunity to recognize this group of fine young men, Coach 22 Walters, and the staff and administration of James Island Christian 23 School. Now, therefore, 24 25 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate 26 concurring: 27 28 That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, 29 congratulate the James Island Christian School Lions Boys Soccer 30 Team on their 8-1 victory over Byrnes Academy to capture the 31 South Carolina Independent School Athletic Association class 32 A-AA State Soccer Championship and commend them for an 33 outstanding season. 34 35 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to 36 the James Island Boys Soccer team, their Coach Mike Walters, and 37 the school staff and administrators. 38 ----XX----
