VOLUNTEER DOCENT

Thank you for your inquiry about volunteering with the Cabbagetown Regent Park Community Museum!

We ask that you complete the following questionnaire (see page 2) using the expanding space as needed for your answers. We suggest you save the file in .pdf format before e-mailing it back to us.

A volunteer Board member from the CRPMuseum or our Collections Manager will contact you about next steps once your completed questionnaire is received.

Please note, we request our volunteers to make a three-month commitment to the museum, with the volunteer working one day a week for a minimum of four hours. This does however vary with the tasks performed.

The requirements and tasks associated with the position have been listed below:

REQUIREMENTS

Available to work one 3-hour shift per month, on either a Saturday or Sunday.

Comfortable talking with the public, particularly families with small children.

Willing to learn about or research aspects of the collection so as to engage visitors in discussion.

TASKS

Greeting visitors in a welcoming manner.

Discussing exhibits, the area, local history and upcoming events with visitors.

Inviting guests to visit our web site, Facebook Fan Site or Twitter.

Keeping up-to-date on upcoming exhibits and events so as to inform visitors.
