Congratulations on accepting the challenge to participate in the Pennsylvania Academic Decathlon Western Regional Competition! This competition will be held on Friday, February 9, and Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Northwestern High School, 200 Harthan Way in Albion. Pertinent tournament information is listed below.

PARTICIPANT INFORMATION FORM

By Monday, January 8th, please email me so that I know whether or not to plan for your school’s participation; no form is necessary. If you do not email me by the due date, I will assume you are unable to participate and your school will not be scheduled to compete.

ENTRY FEE

$ 400.00 payable to PAAD - Pennsylvania Academic Decathlon, with enclosed invoice

(non-refundable) Fee must be received prior to competition to be eligible.

SCHEDULE

Team registration will be Friday at 12:00 p.m. in the school lobby. Team orientation will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. See the enclosed competition schedule for order of events. This schedule WILL NOT BE ALTERED to accommodate students who arrive late or have to leave early. If students cannot abide by the schedule, they will forfeit any missed events. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Directions to the school: Take I79 to Edinboro exit 166. Take 6N west for approximately 9 miles until you see the McDonalds. Continue to Third Avenue, turn left. Continue until you reach Spring Avenue (stop sign), turn left. Teams can be dropped off at the entrance with a red #7 on it, behind the flagpole. All buses and vans must park in the elementary school lot; do not park in the middle or high school lots.

TEAM MEALS

The following meals are included as part of your registration fee and will be provided to your team of nine students and coaches listed on your official roster: Friday’s dinner and Saturday’s lunch.

DUE - January 12, 2018 = GPA computation forms and transcripts for any possible regional

participants **not necessary if student participated in the scrimmage competitions

DUE - February 18, 2018 = Permission Slips for your final team of 9
