TEMPLATE: Bushfire Risk Assessment

How to do a risk assessment

Step 1: Think about out how your business or organisation could be impacted by bushfire and develop a Bushfire Risk Register using the table in Part 1.

First estimate how likely the risk is to occur and the consequences if the risk did occur. Then, use the Risk Rating Table below work out the level of risk.

E.g. if the risk was estimated as being at least Possible and the consequences were potentially estimated as Moderate then the risk rating would be (M) High.

Step 2: Once you have rated your risks, use the Bushfire Treatment Register to work out how you can reduce the risk.

·  Complete a row per risk. Make sure you look at your physical, social, economic and environmental risks

·  Add more rows if you need to (Main menu bar > Table > Insert > Rows Below).

·  Important: Use the Risk Rating Table on the previous page to work out the level of risk.

·  Then, in the separate Risk Treatment Register, summarise the action you’ll take
