Preparing Your Home for the Inspection

The inspector will need easy access to the attic space, crawl space, electrical system (panels, outlets, etc.), plumbing system (access panels, under sinks, storage areas, etc.), heating and cooling systems, rooms and closets. The kitchen appliances and laundry units need to be empty and attached for testing. Pets and children need to be kept away from radon monitors, seals and signs. Closed house conditions must be maintained for 12 hours before the screening starts to the end of the screening time, 60 hour instructions will be displayed for the duration of the screening. Integrity of the inspection depends mostly on the occupants of the home.
