Essentials for these classes:

·  Notebook or Binder (for daily journal keeping)

·  Textbook (in the classroom)

·  3-Ring binder (for recipe book required to be completed and turned in by end of semester)

·  Writing tools (pen, pencil, etc.)

+ If you are absent from class, you must have a re-admission slip from the front office upon your return to class the following day.

+ More than 5 absences from class will make you ineligible to receive credit for any course.

+ A Hall Pass to leave class will only be given in case of emergencies. If there are medical reasons why you need to go to the restroom or to take medications, you should have a medical note from your doctor on file in the office and with the school nurse.

+ Your parent/guardian will be contacted through regular Progress Reports, Email, and/or phone calls.

Testing will come primarily, but not conclusively, from VoCATS (Vocational Competency Achievement Tracking System). VoCATS will be graded as objective mastery, competency mastery, and cumulative unit mastery. You are to complete assignments in class or as homework, pending on how they are assigned.

Grade breakdown:

A = 95 – 100 / B- = 85 – 86 / D+ = 75 – 76
A- = 93 – 94 / C+ = 83 – 84 / D = 72 – 74
B+ = 91 – 92 / C = 80 – 82 / D- = 70 – 71
B = 87 – 90 / C- = 77 – 79 / F = below 69

+ You will receive notice when Unit Tests, Competency Tests, Objective Tests, Reviews, etc. will be assigned. There are also assignments for optional homework and extra credit online via the teacher’s website. You may also find links on those sites that will be helpful resources for this class.

+ You are expected to stay on task in the classroom. At no time can you sleep in class or put your head down on the table/books/etc.
