Due Date: Week 6 –Wednesday 3rd September 10.00 (at commencement of lecture)

Weight: 20%

Task Description:Assignment 1 is 2,000 word individual assignment identifying the business problem and major stakeholders in the designated case study.

instructions

Students should form into study groups of 4-6to assist with understanding a business need in relation to Griffith University’s hypothetical aim to increase the use of ‘flipped learning’.

IIBA principles of business analysis should be used to identify and apply relevant information (including interviews with stakeholders).

Individual students within each group should identify and analyse the business need and major stakeholders, fromone of the following perspectives:

  • Development of out of class activities
  • Academic support
  • Student engagement
  • Student administration
  • Programme evaluation
  • Knowledge management

It is expected that there will be overlap between some of the above perspectives, but each assignment must be presented as individual work.

The impact of new technologies and trends such as BYOD, mobile technologies and cloud computing should be taken into account where relevant.

The analysis should be based on relevant concepts from chapters 2, 3 and 5 of BABOK.

The approach to identification and analysis of the business problem and major stakeholders should be based primarily on the required readings and lecture slides. Other approaches and sources should be checked with the tutor.

All sources of business, background and contextual information should be carefully cited and listed, using APA or Harvard guidelines.

Extensions of more than two weeks will require students to undertake a special assessment. Late assignments will be penalised by 10% per day.
