Gurukul the school believes that ‘education not only follows but also contributes to the social change’.
Gurukul is a school with international outlook focussing on global trends and traditional Indian values empowering the young learners to become world citizens. Our school has five core values i.e. Honesty, Compassion, Fairness, Responsibility and Respect, which are the basis for the school’s approach to character education to our students from grade pre-nursery to grade 12th.
It is located in the heart of the city with good connectivity to NH-24
The environment of school is students, teachers, parents and society friendly.
What breathing is to body, learning is to soul. We at Gurukul learn, unlearn and relearn to improve, evolve to reach towards zenith of success and accomplishment.
Section C: Our School Business Experience
2.  Here is a brief description of the school business we ran before/are currently running, including the products/services we sold/are selling.
Our school business manufactured and traded Mosquito repellent candles and decorative items from waste material. These products not only helped the planet, environment but also took care of health of the community.
Section D: Our Resources
3.  Considering our school’s physical resources, skills and location, these are the resources available at our school we can use to develop our business:
We prepared candles in the assigned room in the school premises, by using equipments of school canteen.
For mosquitoes repellent candles we have neem trees in school campus from where we take neem leaves to prepare our product.
Old clothes and unused items to prepare decorative craft items are donated by the teachers and students of our school.
We have human resources in the form of students and unprivileged women from our community to help us in manufacturing our products.
Section E: Brainstorming Business Ideas
4.  a) These are the five business ideas we thought of when brainstorming a new idea or a way of diversifying or growing the existing one:
1.Manufacturing and selling Mosquito repellent candles
2. Manufacturing and selling Detox Herbal tea
3. Manufactured and selling Craft items out of waste materials available in school as garbage
4. Jewellery with waste cloth and beads manufactured by unprivileged women
b) The business we chose for our Silver Award is: _DETOX HERBAL TEA ______
And these are 3 reasons why we chose this idea:
1. To reduce the side effects of caffeinated tea by providing caffeine free tea to the society.
2. Indian herbs and spices have well researched medical benefits and environment friendly. It helps in improving general health of the tea drinkers.
3. We wish to sell ‘Detox Herbal tea’ at very reasonable price to be affordable by the masses and substantial portion of the profit will be utilised for fulfilment of social responsibility towards weaken section of our society.
5.  Our final Business Idea will be sustainable and have a positive impact on the environment and our community because:
Gurukul Grandeur has successfully implemented the project of manufacturing and selling Mosquito repellent candles and decorative items from waste materials which is sustainable. It is helping in protecting the environment by recycling garbage and waste materials and saving people from mosquitos’ related diseases.
Now as we grow, we are planning to add another product line as manufacturing and selling ‘Detox Herbal Beverages’ which is caffeine free and prepared by world famous Indian herbs and spices with medical benefits. At initial stage, we are introducing “Detox Herbal Tea”. In our society, tea is primary hot beverage to be consumed many times a day by all ages of people. Thus, it will be a sustainable product and have a positive impact on the environment and our community.
We are also providing employment opportunities to unprivileged women of our community and selling our useful products at reasonable price to the society.
Our school is also fulfilling social responsibility by distributing substantial part of profit to meet the needs of the weaker section of the society.
Section F: Financing our growth and development
6.  Here is a description of how we are planning to finance our business, including how we are going to raise the money needed for our school business.
We are planning to use retained earning of our sustainable business which is already in progress and our school will provide us required funds in the form of loan which we will repay through selling our products.
