HOLY FAMILY PERPETUAL ADORATION CHAPEL

OUR LADY OF LOURDES CATHOLIC CHURCH Raleigh, NC

The following safety and security procedures have been established for adorers since they are present in the Adoration Chapel at all times of the day and night throughout the year.

The Chapel has a phone to use in case of emergencies. It is located on the wall in the Chapel Library that can be accessed through the door just after the sign in table.

In case of an emergency, when the Parish Office is open, seek help at the reception desk. The office can be accessed through the Chapel Library. When the office is closed call 911 and immediately contact Father Edward Burch, our Administrator at 919-740-6216. Also contact one of the Adoration Chapel Head Coordinators. Business cards with their contact information are located on the Chapel’s sign-in table.

If an adorer becomes ill and needs emergency services, call 911. The Chapel has an Automated External Defibulator (AED) if CPR is required before emergency technicians arrive. The AED is located in a cabinet on the wall next to the emergency phone in the Chapel Library. Step by step Instructions for its use are posted on that same wall.

If you become aware of a Tornado Warning, please move to the Adoration Chapel Library with the monstrance (if the pastor or his designee is not available to repose), and remain there away from windows. It is safer to remain in the Chapel than to go out into the storm.

If you are in the Chapel and inclement weather is approaching and you must leave, please follow the Inclement Weather Policy and Procedures posted on the Adoration Chapel Bulletin Board.

In the event of a fire, adorers should evacuate the Chapel and move the Blessed Sacrament with them to their vehicle until the Pastor or one of the Adoration Chapel Head Coordinators arrives.

If there are any activities or disturbances that appear out of the ordinary, it is recommended that you call 911.

If you are the only Adorer at night, you may lock the door to the Chapel for security purposes. The next hour’s Adorer should knock gently and inform you of his name so you can admit him.
