The student answers all questions and the challenge question correctly (if a challenge is given). / The student’s work demonstrates an understanding of grade level standards and objectives.
The student completes work satisfactorily and applies expected skills to his/her work. Student can complete most work independently.
3 means the student is doing exactly what is expected. / The student’s work demonstrates partial understanding of grade level standards and objectives.
The student exhibits inconsistent understanding and application of concepts and skills. The student is not always able to work independently.
The student needs support to master standards and objectives. / The student’s work demonstrates minimal understanding of grade level standards and objectives.
The student has very limited organizational, reasoning and critical thinking skills. The student can only complete independent tasks with assistance.
The student struggles with and produces less than expected work.

The student has made some grammatical or spelling mistakes. The sentences and the purpose are somewhat organized and the student has provided 2 pieces of evidence from the text
3 means the student is doing exactly what is expected. / The student’s work demonstrates partial understanding of grade level standards and objectives.
The student has many grammatical or spelling mistakes. The sentences are hard to follow and there is minimal evidence from the text.
The student needs support to master standards and objectives. / The student’s work demonstrates minimal understanding of grade level standards and objectives.
The student has several grammatical or spelling mistakes. The
sentences are very hard to follow and the writing does not contain the necessary content.
The student struggles with and produces less than expected work.
