The Ed. Fund Scholarship Application

With funding from various private donors and foundations, The Ed. Fund is proud to offer up to $45,000 in scholarships to WCCUSD High School seniors who will graduate in June 2009, will attend a 4 year public or private college/university or a 2-year community college transfer or technical program, and who have financial need. SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS: PLEASE READ THESE REQUIREMENTS VERY CAREFULLY: Your application will be disqualified if you do not comply with ALL of the requirements below.

To apply for this scholarship, you must:

1.  Have a minimum of 2.5 GPA in core curriculum subjects throughout 4 years of high school.

2.  Demonstrate active participation in extra-curricular activities, especially community service activities.

3.  Verify financial need by completing the Financial Information Form included with this application, or attaching a copy of your completed FAFSA. Include any information about your Expected Family Contribution (EFC).

4.  Provide an up-to-date High School transcript. Unofficial transcripts are accepted.

5.  Provide 2 letters of recommendation written on the attached forms.

§  Letter of Recommendation Form A: from one of your core subject teachers.

§  Letter of Recommendation Form B: from another adult who knows you well and can describe your qualifications for this scholarship.

6. Type all responses to the essay questions on page 2.

7. Include 4 copies + 1 original of your completed application. Collate and staple each copy and the original.

8. Make sure you apply correct postage to your application packet and that your application packet does NOT require a signature from The Ed .Fund to be delivered.
