___ There is an introduction paragraph. It contains very clear background information which provides a

enough background knowledge for the reader. A thesis statement follows which reflects the writer’s opinion. Following this, there are three arguments that support the thesis, but not explained in detail.

___ The body of the essay has a separate paragraph for each argument mentioned in the introduction. Each paragraph has a strong and direct topic sentence. Each argument uses evidence and scenarios which strongly persuade the reader to believe the thesis is true.

___ The conclusion restates the thesis in a different, yet creative way. The three arguments are then given

in a creative, yet general fashion.

___ Vocabulary used is above grade level. Overall wording has excellent flow.
