Outline of Academic Activities for the Master in Chemical Sciences

OUTLINE OF ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES FOR THE MASTER IN CHEMICAL SCIENCES

Students entering the master program are full time, independently from the number of credits enrolled each semester, so they will have to attend the place assigned by the tutor even in the period between semesters.

Total credits to be covered 84: 42 credits of subjects and 42 of research work.

First semester:

Mandatory subjects of choice: from 12 to 18 credits.

Optional subjects: the number of credits necessary for the sum of mandatory and optional to be a minimum of 24 and a maximum of 30 credits.

Research work: register the key 70192 group 0001 with 6 credits.

In the following semesters the Research work keys should not be repeated.

Second semester:

Subjects: 18 or 24 credits

Research work: 6 credits or those agreed with the tutor.

Third semester:

Preferably no subjects.

Research work: minimum 24 credits.

Fourth semester:

Research work: a minimum of 24 credits should be registered to complete the research project and finish writing the thesis.

During the second month of the 4th semester a jury proposal for the degree exam must be delivered, according to the document “Paperwork for the degree examof the website and to the paperwork deadline previous to the SPIEM reunion.

By the end of the fourth semester students must request Review of studies for the degree exam in the School Section of Building B, in the Chemistry Department.

It is possible to exceed the credits, however the exceeding credits do not count for the average.
