OPORD SY 14-15 #4 (Food Drive and Pick Up)

1.  Situation. The 8th Battalion will conduct a Food Drive from 10 Sept to 3 Oct. The 8th Battalion will also conduct a food drive pick up at the 2000 and 7000 buildings 3 Fridays and 1 Thursday.

2.  Mission. The Alhambra 8th “Mighty Lion” Battalion will conduct a food drive competition from 10 Sep to 3 Oct and a pick up team in the 2000 and 7000 buildings to help support families during the season and compete against other clubs.

3.  Execution.

a.  Concept of Operations. Following sequence of events are planned: The JROTC club will compete against other clubs in the food drive from 10 Sep to 3 Oct. Cadets in the battalion will also donate for the food drive on those dates as well. The 8th BN will also set up a pick up team every Friday and one Thursday to collect goods from the 2000 and 7000 buildings. This is a competitive event, each CO will be expected to donate and the winning company will receive ice cream from the SAi/AIs.

b.  Task to Subordinates

1)  Company Commanders/ 1SGs

a)  Inform the companies about the food drive

b)  Collect goods from the Cos and report to the S3

2)  Battalion Training and Operations Officer (S3)

a)  Assign cadets to pick up food from the 2000 and 7000 buildings.

b)  Keep track of winning company

c.  Coordinating Instructions

1)  The donated food must be canned or non-perishable goods

2)  Cadets will be informed by COs/1SGs about the food drive

3)  Competitive event: One CO who donates the most will receive ice cream from instructors

4)  A pick up team will go through the 2000 and 7000 collecting goods

5)  S3 will keep track boxes of food and keep track of the winning CO

d.  Timeline

1)  10 Sep – 3 Oct : Cadets will donate food and S3 will keep track of goods

2)  12 Sep, 19 Sep, 26 Sep, 3 Oct: Pick up team will collect food from 2000 and 7000 buildings

4.  Service Support

1)  Canned food/ non-perishable food will be donated by cadets

2)  Shopping carts/ boxes supplied by JROTC

3)  Ice cream will be supplied by SAI/AI
