We would like to present you with the first release of our cabling system drawing tool.
To support companies working with our products and to answer to requests received from several regions, we have created a library of intelligent shapes covering all LANmark systems.
This useful support tool will allow you to quickly and easily create professional drawings of the cabling system distributors (FD, BD, CD).
Presented together with your best quotation, these drawings will enhance your tender and should improve your chance to be awarded.
Design Engineers and Project Managers will also appreciate the built-in BoM report tool that automatically export into an excel sheet the Bill of Material of the distributor they just designed.
The NVT is working under MS Visio 2000, 2002 and 2003 (Available second-half 2003).
MS Visio is becoming more and more popular and provides an easy, complete (Huge collection of shapes’ libraries included) and cost effective solution to create business and technical visual diagrams.
The NVT can be freely downloaded from our website: http://www.nexans.com/ncs.
The package is included in a single exe file
1. Just double-click on the “NexansVisioTemplate.exe“ file and the NVT files will be installed on your computer.
2. Run MS Visio and choose the Nexans template from the new Nexans Category
Main features
ü You can now drag and drop the shapes from the LANmark stencil (Library) onto the custom page preformatted with border and title block.
ü Each Master (shape) includes all the products of its family. You don’t need to search for the component you need from several libraries or from a huge list of single product shapes.
For instance, the snap-in shape includes all LANmark snap-in connectors: From the right-click mouse menu of the snap-in shape, choose the one you need. The description and the part number will be updated according to your choice.
ü To fill up the patch panels, zone distribution boxes and outlets with its components, use the “Add more” option available for the snap-in, the OF coupler and the Omega 10 pairs module.
ü Each master has got a hyperlink to the page of our web site where you will find the data sheet of the selected product.
ü The built-in help file will provide you with a description of all the functions of the NVT.
ü When your drawing is complete, run the BoM report tool to export the Bill of Material of your Distributor into an excel sheet.
ü Links to Free MS Visio viewers and to MS Visio to MS Power Point format converter are available on the NVT page of our web site.
We are currently working on an additional quotation tool using the BoM sheet to calculate the price of the solution you just designed.
