Post Title / Play & Parties worker
Salary / Meets minimum wage
Hours / (Play Worker) Weekdays, 45 hours a week, school holidays only (Parties Worker) Occasional weekends for up to 3 hours a party.
Location / The position involves working in the Rangers Cabin at Stanwick Lakes and around the site.
Reports to / Play Ranger and Club Manager
Purpose of post / To assist the play ranger in running a holiday club for children aged 5 – 11 years old, ensuring safety and wellbeing of the children in your care. To deliver adhoc parties with a variety of themes.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist and liaise with the Play Ranger regarding the development and organisation of the activities programme throughout the duration of the holiday club.

2. Welcome all children and support them throughout the day, liaising with their parents/guardians in relation to their development.

3. Prepare equipment & resources for group activities, tidying up afterwards, checking, sorting & repairing equipment as necessary. Ensuring that club room is prepared for the following day.

4. Due to the demands of the role, no annual leave can be taken during the school holiday period.

5. Assist with play and environmental activities taking place around the natural environment of the site as well as in the club room.

6. Ensure all children receive support in terms of day to day routines such as use of facilities and refreshments.

7. Ensure children are collected by their parents or a properly authorised substitute.

8. Ensure that accidents and incidents are recorded on the relevant forms and reported to the play ranger or the club manager.

9. To host parties at Stanwick Lakes for children choosing to celebrate with one of our party packages. Mostly at weekends based around the Visitor Centre.

10. To carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope and purpose of this job description.

Such reviews and any consequential changes will be carried out in consultation with the post holder. Successful applicant will be subject to a DBS check & training.
