SCOPE OF WORK: To perform duties in the Dr. Goldie Crocker Wellness Center. This position reports to the Director of the Dr. Goldie Crocker Wellness Center at NHTI, Concord’s Community College.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:  Monitor and control Wellness Center Fitness facility and gymnasium;  Maintain usage log for Wellness Center and prepares reports as required;  Administer orientations to ensure facility users comply with proper use and care of equipment, safety, rules and regulations;  Plan, organize, conduct and evaluate programs and/or workshops;  Provide technical support to Wellness Center Office;  Assist other staff members as needed;  Reports safety concerns to management and the Chief of Campus Safety in a timely basis;  Complies with all college, system, state and federal rules and regulations;  Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Completion of two years of high school or its equivalent. Experience: No experience required.

License/Certification: None required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Current first aid and CPR certification preferred. College student who has experience in recreation, health promotion or fitness programs preferred. Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff and the public preferred. Self-starter who has the ability to work independently preferred.

RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Some knowledge of proper English usage and grammar. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to learn assigned clerical tasks readily and to adhere to prescribed departmental procedures. Ability to make simple arithmetical computations and tabulations accurately and with reasonable speed. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
