New Features:

1.  Add new function “Rename Raid Set”.

2.  Add display of Error Recovery Control (Read/Write) Status of SATA HDD.

Select RAID Set Hierarchy -> Device# or Slot# -> Device Information

3.  Add function to enable/disable SMART Fan Control.

Select “Raid Set Functions”, then “Rescue Raid Set”. Type command “FanControl 0”, tick “Confirm The Operation”, and click “Submit”.

NOTE: Disable = 0

Enable = 1

4.  Add support for Mail Greet Pause; use different tcp_send Timeout Value.

This helps fix some SNMP timeout issue.

5.  Add new option in “Alert By Mail Configuration” to support different email recipients.

6.  Add auto-detect SFP speed function in F8S3 (8Gigabit FC) series models. When Channel Speed is set to Auto and SFP module is changed to another with lower/different speed, system will auto-detect the new speed. (See Limitation #5)

7.  Add display of Fibre Channel Error Statistics.

Select System Controls -> Fibre Channel Config -> View Error Statistics

8.  Add Support for Fibre Loop MNID (Multiple Node ID).

9.  Add Pass-Through Disk support to map FC Host Port.

Pass-Through Disk, shown as individual LUN, can be mapped to Host Ports.

10. Add ELS Command for Qlogic Fibre Switch Diagnostic Test.

Previously, when FC RAID model is connected to Qlogic Fibre Switch and diagnostic test is done, the test will fail. Firmware 1.49 added support for ELS command, and Qlogic Diagnostic test will pass.

11. Changed Volume Set LUN Mapping function. When LUN is not mapped to any Fibre Port, LUN mapping will show “N.A.”.

Limitations:

1.  When using SATA HDD, the maximum capacity supported is 2TB.

Solution to detect over-2TB:

A.  Use 6Gb SAS bridge board/dongle board

B.  Use SAS HDD (over-2TB capacity)

2.  When Volume Sets (data volumes) from RAID unit with firmware version 1.47 or older already have signature in Vmware ESX Server, and firmware is upgraded to version 1.48 or later version, need to enable “Report EUI64 Only (Inquiry Page 0x83)” function, and data volumes can work normally, or re-signature once again all the data volumes in Vmware ESX Server.

NOTE: To enable “Report EUI64 Only (Inquiry Page 0x83)” function, select System Controls -> Fibre Channel Config. In Channel O Hard Loop ID, enter 911, then tick “Confirm the Operation”. The “Report EUI64 Only (Inquiry Page 0x83)” option will be shown.

3.  When using Loop MNID (Multiple Node ID) function and then Volume Sets (LUNs) are added/modified to different Nodes that are new to the Loop, need to re-plug the host cable in Host Port to make them effective (seen by the OS). Power-cycling of the RAID unit or Host also works.

4.  View Error Statistics Function Error Counters:

In Fibre Channel RAID units, when SFP module is inserted but still has not “Linked Up” with the FC Host, in some situation the RAID system might record “Loss of Signal”, “Loss of Sync”, and “Link Fail” counters.

5.  When using 8Gb Fibre RAID models, if “Channel x Speed” is fixed to 8Gb Speed in “Fibre Channel Config”, and SFP module is changed to lower speed SFP modules (for example 4Gb), the RAID controller will keep the old configuration speed setting. Need to re-configure the Channel Speed setting to the correct speed of SFP module (for example 4Gb).

NOTE: It is recommended to setup Channel Speed to “Auto” for automatic detection of FC speed.
