NATIONAL OUTRIGGER SPRINT TITLES 2013

The 2013 National Outrigger Sprint Titles will be held on Kawana Lakes Sportmans Parade Kawana Waters Sunshine Coast on the 1st, 2nd & 3rd February.

The event will be hosted by AOCRA SQ Zone in conjunction with Junior Development Committee.

All proceeds from the three day event will be deposited into the Junior Development Bank Account.

Funds from last years’ event have so far provided travel assistance for Juniors to the TTGGWA, OC6 Nationals, OC1/2 Nationals and 4 return tickets for Juniors to the New Zealand Aotearoa Aito.

We cordially invite you to attend the 2013 National Outrigger Sprint Titles on the beautiful Sunny Coast.

The three day program will include events across V1, OC1, OC2, OC6 and V12.

We look forward to seeing you all at the AOCRA National Sprint Titles in February.

LOCATION

Sportsman Pde,Kawana Lake, Bokarina, Sunshine Coast

REGISTRATION

Registration will be ongoing throughout the three days of the event.

Everyone will be issued with a coloured wristband in accordance with their racing division.

These wristbands are to remain on your wrist for the duration of your racing days and must be attached by an official at the time of registration.

Photo ID is also required to be presented at the time of registration.

Juniors are to show their Student ID or be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

You must register in person. No-one can register on your behalf.

NOMINATION INFORMATION

Nominations will be on-line on the www.aocra.com.au site.

Cut off date for the nominations will be Friday 27th January 2013 (1 week prior to the event).

FEES Seniors $22 per person per event

Juniors $12 per person per event

Any nominations received past this date will incur a $10 late fee per paddler

CANOES

All V1, OC1, OC2, OC6 & V12 craft will be provided over the three day event.

V1 – Rudderless Zulu, OC1 – Stealths, OC6 – Mirages &

V12- Mirages (Puffy ama)

RACE COURSE

The race course will be:

·  Day One races V1 & OC2 in straight 500m format;

·  Day Two all races in straight 500m format;

·  Day Three all OC6 races in turn format (on the 250m marker), V12 is 500m straight.

MARSHALLING

It is important on the day to ensure you are aware of your race and team responsibilities.

Please ensure you check your program list and listen out for any announcements for your events.

You will be asked to go to the Marshalling Area (undercover) to wait for your race.

Your team and names will then be checked off the nominations list.

PRESENTATIONS

Please check on the race results throughout the day and be ready to attend your presentation when it is called.

A final presentation will be held at the end of each day’s racing.

We invite you to stick around and mingle with old friends and new.

FACILITIES ON THE DAY

A food tent will operate all day over the three-day event.

Cold refreshments and a coffee van will also be available on-site.

Paddling merchandise tents will be trading on the day.

HOUSEKEEPING

We ask that you do not visit the results tent at any time.

All results will be posted immediately after each heat and final.

A specified area will be allocated for this purpose.

If you want to protest or query a result you must check with the

nominated official on the day.

(Start time and number of events will be determined closer to the

closing time of 27 January 2013 and is dependent upon the number of

nomination and divisions required)

The Race Program will run on time or at the discretion of the Race

Director. Please be ready for your event. Please note that races may be

bought forward or changed due to conditions on the day. It is important

to listen for changes over the PA system.
