Flowfit Shropshire Champions of the 2015 Flowfit SPBL are… NEWPORT!!! By doing so they have Premier Bowling League made history by becoming the first club to win the title five years running. 18 points behind them were Meole Brace and Ifton, Meole taking the 2nd spot with a superior Games Won tally. This has been one of the tightest seasons in SPBL history with only 11 points separating 2nd spot and 7th spot. Facing the dreaded Play Offs this year will be ARCHIBALD WORTHINGTON, they finished bottom, only 3 points behind Bylet.

Most Improved Team This season’s Most Improved Team were IFTON, they were a total of 39 points better off than last year. Wrockwardine Wood were next with 35.

Flowfit SPBL Averages The 2015 Flowfit SPBL Averages went to ROBERT BURROUGHS (Hadley USC), the league’s very own Treasurer/Minutes Secretary. He won the Averages with 21 wins and an aggregate of +120 with GLYN PICKNELL (St. George’s) just four shots behind in aggregate and in third with 20 wins was DAVE RHODES (Newport). The future of the league looks good too with 8 out of the top 15 in the averages being under the age of 30.

Most Consecutive Wins The winners of the Most Consecutive Wins award were RICHARD LAWSON (Bowring) & NICKY JONES (Ifton) both with an impressive 13 wins.

MVP Award The player with the most MVPs this year was ROBERT BURROUGHS (Hadley USC). A grand total of 9 MVP Awards meant he finished 2 ahead of his nearest rivals PAUL WILLIAMS (Castlefields) & STEVE ROBERTS (Wrockwardine Wood). Newsletter 2 Continued…

Premiership Trophy The First round of the 8 a side competition were played on Wednesday 23rd September and the Semi finals to be played on Wednesday 30th September with the two finals will be played on Friday October 9th at Sir John Bayley.
