Dear Players and Table Tennis Fans:

Membership fees and sponsorships are two major sources of revenue of USATT. The Association’s growth is very dependent on increasing revenues from these sources. Overhead expenses increase every year because of inflation. New programs need funds to implement. Enhanced member benefits such as changing from a tabloid to the current glossy format with many more color pages cost money. We must increase revenues from these major sources, or we end up with less money to spend on programs and membership benefits, and our sport will stagnate.

Every year, there is a large turnover of the membership. USATT expends a significant amount of time and expenses sending out renewal notices, processing renewals and sending out renewal materials to those who do renew. A life membership eliminates these renewal expenses, and increases the net amount from fee revenue for other programs. Also, for many renewals, there is a gap between the date of expiration and the date of renewal. This time gap results in an effective decrease in revenue from membership fees. It also decreases the average membership count that will decrease the Association’s appeal in getting sponsorships and advertisers, as well as our ability to increase advertisement rates. The new life membership program will help to increase office productivity and generate much needed revenues to fund programs.

1. Opportunity to help promote the sport: Don’t just look at it from the financial point of view. A financially-strong Association will be able to offer more grassroots programs to promote the sport. Help the sport by helping to increase USATT membership that increases the Association stature when it comes to finding sponsors.

1. Receive a subscription for lifeto USA Table Tennis Magazine. Keep abreast of table tennis news in a the U.S. and abroad. Improve your game from reading articles on coaching. Be eligible to participate in sanctioned tournaments and listed with the national rating/ranking after the first tournament.

1. Receive a complimentary admission ticket to the Finals at USATT-run events – the U.S. Open and U.S. Nationals. Life members will also receive priority in purchasing additional tickets or VIP seating tickets at the U.S. Open and U.S. Nationals. Only life memberships signed under this program (Millennium Life Memberships) will be eligible for these benefits.

A Millennium Life Membership fee is $1,000 for primary member. For an additional adult household member the cost is $375. For each junior household member (U-18) the membership fee is $225.

Note:

1. A household life membership is entitled to one magazine mailed to the primary life member’s U.S. address. Only the primary life member will have the right to vote – same as for current regular family memberships. Memberships of non-primary household members expire upon the death of the primary member, when they no longer reside at the primary member’s address, or if they are minors, when they reach the age of 18.

1. Complimentary admission tickets to the Finals at USATT-run events – the U.S. Open and U.S. Nationals – must be picked up at the tournament site before the event (will call). Additional tickets or VIP seating tickets at the U.S. Open and U.S. Nationals must be purchased at least three weeks before each tournament start date to guarantee priority.
