MEMBERS FIRST CREDIT UNION JOB DESCRIPTION Mortgage Loan Processor (Non-Exempt)

Reports to: Real Estate Lending Manager

Position Overview: The primary purpose of this position is to assist Members First Credit Union to deliver on its Mission: To make a positive difference in the lives of our members and our community. To achieve this mission the position must deliver high quality service to both internal and external members.

Major functions:

- To deliver on the Credit Union’s Service Promises in every service situation - Develop and Maintain an effective level of product knowledge

Duties / Responsibilities:

 Provide prompt, professional, helpful, knowledgeable and courteous member service  Answer questions effectively and provide information as requested  Answer member calls to the mortgage department ring group  Schedule appointments for the mortgage lenders  Complete daily mortgage lending related tasks as directed  Process mail as required  Process Neighborhood Mortgage Solutions and Member First Mortgage Payments  Process mortgage and HELOC discharges  Inform members of loans available within the Lending Policies of the credit union.  Increase loan volume by cross selling additional loan products, using information obtained from the member and/or credit report  Process loan paperwork once a loan officer has made the loan approval  Calculate debt to income ratios on loan applicants  Interview, receive and process loan application(s) to a successful conclusion within the Lending Policies of Members First Credit Union  Tell new members and potential members about our MFCU products and services and how the member will benefit from these products & services.

February 2016  Create opportunities for expanded member relationships by determining member needs for additional products and services  Access credit-reporting system and review report and compare against the loan application  Obtain proof of income from loan applicants  Obtain proof of home owners insurance for borrowers  Verify that property taxes are paid for all mortgage loan accounts  Prepare an adverse action letter as required by law and mail original to the member. Attach a copy of the application that was denied.  Audit mortgage and home equity line of credit files  To perform certain specialized clerical functions as required.  Be a visible presence in the local community. Promote the credit union and gain leads through participation in business, community, chamber, and charitable organization activities as assigned

General duties:

 Desire to “Make a Positive Difference in the Lives of our Members and the Community”  Must have a good working knowledge of credit union products and services offered by Members First Credit Union  Must have a good knowledge of State and Federal laws governing the lending process  Excellent Communication skills  Attend educational functions as required  Other duties that may be assigned

Education:

 Minimum high school graduate or equivalent.

Experience:

 Minimum of one-year experience with a financial institution  Knowledgeable about MFCU products and services  Must have a working knowledge of loan processing and credit analysis  Use a 10-key adding machine  Operate a computer and related software.
