Regular Session October 21, 2010

6:00 pm Horace O. Porter School at College Hill

I.  CALL TO ORDER

Chair Daniels called the meeting to order, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance by Hampshire Unit

School Students after which a moment of silence was observed. The following members were present: Loretta Goodloe, Jim Morrison, Jerry Lassiter, Tommy Dudley, Shaw Daniels, Rob Burcham, James Pennings, and Lee Clayborne. Steve Kindler and Joe Foster were absent.

II.  ADOPT AGENDA

Upon a motion by Mr. Dudley, seconded by Mrs. Goodloe, Full Board approved the Agenda.

III. RECOGNITIONS

Mrs. Goodloe, Community Relations Chair, and Kevin Eady, Riverside Elementary School principal, thanked Reverend Gary Wedgewood of Riverside United Methodist Church for providing school supplies to 500-700 students at Riverside Elementary School and other schools. One hundred coats were also provided.

Director Hickman introduced Kim Doddridge as the new Communication Specialist/Grants Writer Coordinator.

Upon a motion by Mr. Morrison, seconded by Mr. Dudley, to approve the minutes (September 9, 2010 Regular Meeting) (September 23, 2010 Special Called Meeting) (October 5, 2010 Special Called Meeting) (October 14, 2010 Special Called Meeting). Full Board approved. Motion carried.

VIII. NEW BUSINESS

Mr. Clayborne made a motion to rescind the action taken by the Board last month to request a letter be sent to the County Commission and Maury County Parks from the Director to waive fees when Whitthorne Middle School and Central High School use the stadium in Maury County Park, known as Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Full Board approved. Motion carried.

IX. OTHER BUSINESS

A. Committee Reports

Facilities and Zoning – Chair Tommy Dudley reported the next meeting will be November 18, 2010.

Budget Committee – Chair Shaw Daniels reported a date will be provided to meet.

Policy Committee – Chair Joe Foster made a motion to recommend on behalf of the Committee the approval of Policy 3.500 (Food Service Management) and Policy 4.407 (Web Pages) which have been posted the required amount of time. Full Board approved. Motion carried.

Community Relations Committee – Loretta Goodloe reported on the Sack Lunch attended by Board members and members of the community. The next Sack Lunch will be on January 11, 2011 at Spring Hill High School.
