OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

The IGD Manager will be an experienced, independent self-starter with expertise in both business and international development, working either in an in-house corporate role or as a strategic management consultant, with experience engaging at a senior executive level. The Manager will be responsible for working across a broad range of program initiatives and that will primarily include contributing to and/or leading the development of a strategy for IGDs work in the financial services sector and contributing to and/or leading IGD impact measurement projects. Specifically, the Manager must possess superb project management skills demonstrating the ability to develop sound methods and approaches for completion of complex engagements and deliverables from inception through completion. The Manager must also be an outstanding problem-solver and analytical thinker with significant experience gathering, analyzing, and developing recommendations and conclusions from qualitative and quantitative data. S/he will be a strategic thinker and will contribute to and / or lead the development of proposals to corporations, key partners, and major foundations to secure revenue and create impact. The role will report to the Senior Manager of Programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.  PROJECT MANAGEMENT (70% OF TIME)

·  Manage project delivery to a very high standard working closely with the Senior Manager of Programs:

o  Develop, manage, and execute project plans, budgets, key artifacts, and deliverables for key IGD programs and initiatives

o  Develop and implement effective research methods and tools (questionnaires, surveys, etc.,) and collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data to develop thoughtful, data-based strategic findings and client recommendations

o  Produce high quality deliverables against key milestones, including reports and presentations (written and verbal)

o  Effectively manage partner relationships to exceed expectations (day-to-day management, communication with senior executives in companies and their deputies; and other partners such as, foundations and development agencies)

o  Effective management of inputs from junior staff, providing coaching where appropriate

·  Leverage project work to raise IGDs profile and position IGD as an innovator and leader in the field. Working with IGD communications and external partners to profile IGDs role in increasing Access to Finance position (e.g., blogs and social media, publications, policy papers presentations, participating in relevant external events)

2.  BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT (30% OF TIME)

·  Lead on effective proposal development, converting proposals into income for IGD from corporate donors or foundations

·  Develop a pipeline of funded projects in the financial services sector which engage companies in IGD’s network and translate ideas into compelling proposals to be funded by one or more company and/or foundation

You possess a positive, upbeat, “can-do” attitude, and thrive in a “work hard, play hard” environment, don’t take yourself too seriously, and bring a sense of humor to the job.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

·  MBA or Master’s degree in business, economics, finance, social enterprise, or international development

·  4-6 years experience in strategic business consulting, corporate sector or private sector-led international development, with strong business acumen

·  Extensive project management experience with demonstrated results managing engagements from project inception through delivery and providing oversight for at least a small team

·  Proven business development expertise demonstrated by proposal development for corporate, foundation, and/or development institution based funding

·  Expertise in financial services sector; particularly in private equity, impact investing, and microfinance highly desirable

·  Excellent English (written and verbal) communication skills

·  French professional proficiency a plus
