Purpose of role:
To effectively manage the weekly payroll (approximately 3,100 people) and support the preparation of two further monthly payrolls (approximately 300 people) for the Newcross and Lexicon businesses, challenging current systems and procedures, proposing and implementing changes as required.
The successful applicant will have 3-5 years’ experience of successfully preparing and reporting on both weekly and monthly Payrolls in a growing SME. They will ideally have a Payroll qualification such as Pearson Edexcel /BTEC Professional Certificate in Payroll Supervision.

Key Tasks:
Perform Payroll function for both weekly and monthly payrolls.
Prepare weekly payroll for Establishment and Homecare.
Make weekly payroll adjustments
Input tax forms for all new starters/leavers/P45/P46 and all relevant paperwork.
Manage the process of timesheet input (up to 5,000 timesheets scanned in per week)
Key Tasks contd.:
Action manual timesheet changes as required (approximately a third of all sheets)
Effectively deal with all payroll queries
Deal with benefits agency / mortgages and rental etc
Process SSP and SMP
Process salary sacrifice schemes
Prepare and present management information to Management Accountant
Compliance with HMRC payroll regulations and completion and submission of payroll returns including P60 / P35, P46 (car) P11d etc
Bradford score, holiday register, sickness absence measures
Manage pension defined contribution pension scheme
